What the phrase protects
Your recovery phrase unlocks the credential vault used by Dragbox. It is different from your account password and from an account-deletion recovery email. It does not encrypt the contents of Dragbox Cloud files end-to-end.
Keep a safe copy
Save the exact phrase in a password manager or keep a printed copy somewhere private. Never send it to another person, including Dragbox support, or put it in a shared file.
Unlock another device
- Sign in with the same Dragbox account.
- Enter your saved phrase when the app asks to unlock the vault.
- If you still have an unlocked device, use the supported pairing flow instead.
Remembering a device can reduce repeated prompts. Only use that option on a device you trust.
If you lose the phrase
Dragbox cannot recover or reveal it. Check your password manager or an already-unlocked device before resetting anything. Your files in your own bucket remain with your storage provider, even if Dragbox cannot decrypt the credentials needed to access them.
You can still request account deletion from Account settings while the vault is locked. For help with account access, contact [email protected] without including your phrase, password or storage keys.
